I strongly believe in the law of attraction. Everything we do, how we behave and our beliefs are perceived on the outside more than we realize. These energies inevitably attract people similar to us, with our values or who share passions and interests with us. La Casa nel Castello has been hosting tourists from all over the world for many years now and more and more often I have confirmation of what I think.
All the energy, care and love that I put into the house to make it welcoming is also perceived by those who stay there, and more and more often the tourists who choose it are attracted precisely by this energy that the house releases. It’s not about hotel-style comfort and I don’t do paid advertising for the House precisely because I want it to be inhabited only by people who are naturally ‘attracted’ to it. On the other hand, Suvereto is an original and unusual destination for a holiday in Italy, fortunately outside the mass tourism routes, so it is normal that people who choose it for a holiday are already predisposed to spending days letting themselves be enchanted by nature, from what the area offers and with a slower and more relaxed style. The true Italian lifestyle!
Sometimes I manage to be in the village at the same time as I have guests and it can happen that we get to know each other or have a coffee together. This is what happened with a beautiful couple from Frankfurt. We had a coffee on the construction site of the new Terrazza sul Borgo and started talking about our respective passions. I then discovered that my guest is the creator of the Not Terrible Restoration YouTube channel, where he shares beautiful videos about his repairs and restorations. Go visit him and watch his videos, you will be fascinated! My favorite? The one in which he creates the engagement ring for his future wife!
Here is Lukas’ story told by him:
Ever since I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the magic of restoration. There’s something profoundly satisfying about taking an item that’s been forgotten, worn down, or damaged and breathing new life into it. Every project is a journey, filled with history, craftsmanship, and a story waiting to be told.
The vacation in Suvereto offered a similar journey in a different context. The house and the surroundings breathe history, and we got to live right in the middle of it.
Creating “Not Terrible Restorations” allowed me to share this passion with the world. It’s not just about fixing things; it’s about preserving pieces of our past and giving them a second chance. Each restoration is a puzzle that requires patience, skill, and a bit of creativity to solve. Through this channel, I aim to show that with the right approach and a lot of heart, even the most daunting projects can turn out beautifully.
In Suvereto, I learned and saw that Diana and her lovely family share the same passion. While we stayed in our vacation apartments, we witnessed Diana’s capability and love for detail and history. At the construction site, it was clear that no project is too big for her; her imagination and creativity are immeasurable.
Ultimately, “Not Terrible Restorations” is about more than just fixing things; it’s about connecting with people, sharing knowledge, and inspiring others to see the potential in what might seem like a lost cause. Whether you’re a seasoned restorer or just curious, I hope my videos encourage you to pick up a tool, enjoy a good beer, and perhaps see the beauty in the not-so-terrible.
I’m more than happy that we met Diana and her family and connected right away through our shared passion and values. There is no better place on earth to unwind and enjoy a nice sunny evening with a cold beer or even wine than Tuscany in the summer.
