Discover Artimborgo 2024, the Suvereto festival that combines art and sustainable craftsmanship. A week of creativity, with unique installations and live projects. From 7 to 13 October.
From 7 to 13 October 2024, the medieval village of Suvereto is preparing to host Artimborgo 2024, one of the most important cultural events dedicated to art and craftsmanship in Tuscany. This festival, born in 2018, transforms the streets of the village into an open-air exhibition for a week, where artists and artisans will exhibit their creations and work live, involving the public in first person.
What is Artimborgo 2024
Artimborgo 2024 is a festival that focuses on artisanal creativity and sustainability. Every year, artists and artisans from all over Italy meet in Suvereto, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, to create unique works and engage with the public. This event is an opportunity to discover the work of local and international artisans and immerse yourself in the world of contemporary and traditional art. Here is my blogpost dedicated to this initiative in 2022.

The theme of sustainability at Artimborgo 2024
The 2024 edition of Artimborgo, under the artistic direction of Veronica Papi, will focus on the theme of sustainability in art and craftsmanship. Artists and artisans will explore creative reuse, transforming waste materials into unique works of art. The festival not only promotes creativity, but also a strong message on the importance of recycling and respect for the environment.
An example of this vision will be the installation “Rottami al Chiostro” by artists Stefano Pilato and Andrea Locci, who will create a large sculpture using recycled materials. The work, illuminated by fluorescent colors, will represent the meeting between the marine world and the science fiction one, creating a truly suggestive atmosphere.

Artimborgo 2024 events and projects
Among the most anticipated events of Artimborgo 2024, there will also be a collaborative workshop in Piazza D’Annunzio, where artisans such as Caterina Baragatti, Francesco Bonfanti and other local talents will create a futurist banner inspired by medieval mail. This collective project will be inaugurated on October 12 in Piazza Vittorio Veneto.
The entire week will feature exhibitions, live workshops and moments of meeting, where artists and the public will be able to dialogue, creating an immersive experience. Artimborgo 2024 aims to put everyone, from artists to visitors, on the same level, transforming the village of Suvereto into a place of meeting and cultural exchange.
