An important milestone to my commitment to slow and sustainable tourism: La Casa nel Castello on the Slow Stay in Italy circuit
I am happy to share with you a news that represents an important step for my two dwellings in the heart of the village: La Casa nel Castelloin the SlowStayInItaly circuit! Born in 2020 during the pandemic, the Slow Stay project has grown thanks to the passion of Silvia Mulazzani and a group of visionary hosts, becoming today a point of reference for those seeking genuine hospitality experiences linked to the territory.
What is SlowStayInItaly?
SlowStayInItaly is more than just a network of hosts: it is an Association that promotes slow, authentic and sustainable tourism. The circuit brings together small facilities such as vacation homes, B&Bs and country houses, all of which share a philosophy that values local culture, respect for the environment and a family welcome. Being part of this network means espousing an approach to tourism that focuses on the quality of time and relationships, away from mass tourism.

Why I chose SlowStayInItaly
Joining this Association was a natural and heartfelt choice for me. My residences, immersed in the beauty of the village, tell a story of authenticity and connection with the territory. I fully share the values of SlowStayInItaly:
- Family hospitality
- Sustainability
- Enhancement of local traditions
The care I take in decorating homes and in the services offered and recommended reflects these values. Whenever possible, I try to buy for my home and propose sustainable purchases to my guests so as to encourage the development of a circular economy. Tourism in my vision is a tool to enrich the social fabric and the territory and I would like every visitor to feel like a guest, rather than a tourist
What changes for my guests?
Being part of the SlowStayInItaly circuit means for my guests access to an even more curated and authentic experience. The residences will not only be a place to stay, but a gateway to the discovery of a unique territory, through:
- Food and wine tours: discovering local flavors, following my own recommendations or those of other guests, I always try to offer local alternatives to buying products at the supermarket.
- Authentic activities: workshops, cultural visits and tours to immerse oneself in village life promoted by local guides and associations with which I collaborate.
- Slow tourism: an invitation to slow down and enjoy every moment, experiencing the area as its inhabitants do.
The Future with SlowStayInItaly
La Casa nel Castello in the Slow Stay circuit is an opportunity for me to grow, connect with other hosts who share my vision and offer an even more special welcome. SlowStayInItaly is a journey that promotes authentic Italy, and I am proud that my dwellings are part of this network. Find more information here:

Slow Stay in Italy in Tuscany: the other facilities
If you are curious to find out what other facilities in Tuscany are part of the circuit, here you are: let’s start with La Gualda Vecchia, in Monteverdi Marittimo. Structure with which I collaborate and realize the Piccole Guide that you can also find here on the site. Moving towards Florence you will find immersed in the countryside the beautiful Podere San Bartolomeo. On the other hand, for those looking for a location immersed in a forest, try the Pietra d’Acqua, in the province of Pisa.
All guests who like to travel within the Slow Stay circuit can apply for the issuance of a ‘passport‘ that allows them to book directly and with a discount at all facilities belonging to Slow.
