When you think of the Suvereto Wild Boar Festival, your mind immediately turns to authentic flavours and dishes that celebrate the undisputed star of the festival: wild boar. Pappardelle with wild boar, stewed wild boar, mortadella and wild boar sausage served with polenta and fried zonzelle. You’ll be spoilt for choice!

Creativity and culture: the added value of the festival
As you stroll through the streets of the historic centre, you’ll discover an unexpected side to the festival. The Wild Boar Festival is also a tribute to craftsmanship, culture and traditional trades, with live demonstrations, exhibitions and workshops that bring stories from days gone by to life. We had great fun with the children taking part in little papier-mâché workshops at the Chiostro, modelling clay whilst listening to folk music and watching traditional dances, and knocking over tins with balls alongside our friends from Supernova. At the top of the fortress, you can even have a go at shooting like a real cowboy to try and win a horse ride.
Artisans at work, artists transforming simple materials into works of art, workshops dedicated to traditional techniques: you’ll find plenty of activities to fill your day, rounding off with mulled wine and roasted chestnuts waiting for you in the afternoon!
A village brought to life by stories
During the festival, the streets fill with stalls and corners dedicated to local creativity, where you can also do some Christmas shopping: from master woodworkers to ceramic artisans, from traditional crafts to art exhibitions. At Suberbello this year, you’ll find Antonio Grauso, a master of the art of Neapolitan nativity scenes, waiting for you. As well as showing you his nativity scenes made from cork, he’ll explain the origins and traditions behind this beautiful art form.
There’s no shortage of sporting events to make the festival even more special: the Suvereto Run or an e-bike tour, to explore the local area and countryside beyond Suvereto’s historic centre.
