How could one fail to mention this veritable monument in the form of a winery? It was designed by Mario Botta, the Swiss starchitect, but the idea and the resources invested are all down to Vittorio Moretti, owner of Bellavista, who established the base in Val di Cornia to produce his group’s great red wines. Petra offers three wine-tasting tours: Petra Classic (90 minutes, three wines to taste, 35 euros per person), Petra Under the Tuscan Sun (120 minutes, three wines to taste with a matching platter, 45 euros) and Petra Experience (180 minutes, complete with lunch, for 60 euros per person).
