A Short Guide is a project conceived and created in collaboration with Bruna, host of La Gualda Vecchia, a beautiful farmhouse nestled in the countryside in Monteverdi Marittimo.
For years, we have been welcoming our guests by offering personalised advice on how to experience the area at a leisurely pace, in an authentic way. Our guests aren’t looking for the ‘perfect’ tourist itinerary, but rather one that lets them feel the essence of the region: the simple places, the most beautiful villages, the best spots and the experiences that are truly worth your time.
This guide stems from this very desire: to offer honest advice on choosing fewer, better experiences, rather than adding yet another ‘holiday filler’ activity.

How the guide is structured
Piccola Guida is a guide designed to accompany you as you explore, not to overwhelm you with information.
The guide is organised into 5 themed chapters, so you can explore the area in a mindful and personal way:
1. Nature and wellbeing
: Less crowded beaches, scenic walks, wellness centres and spas, nature reserves and trails through the countryside, with practical tips and seasonal information.
2. Experiences
Walks and activities to do with children, by bike or through the vineyards, to discover the area in an original way.
3. History and Culture
Festivals, traditions, events and celebrations that reveal the area’s identity through the people who live there. Historical and archaeological itineraries and walks through the villages.
4. Culinary
Delights: Trattorias, taverns and local eateries specialising in regional cuisine, from breakfast to dinner, chosen for their authenticity and quality.
5. The Seasons
Practical tips for organising your trip, getting around with respect and enjoying the area at a leisurely pace, whatever the season.
