Populonia was once the nerve center of the Etruscan colony that had concentrated its commercial and economic activity in the Gulf of Baratti. The acropolis is still open to visitors and the village retains a special charm.
In Populonia there is also a small archaeological museum and it is possible to climb the medieval tower to enjoy a breathtaking panorama.
In summer all restaurants and shops are open, so a visit to this village is definitely a must. It would be interesting to combine the visit with an aperitif, or a visit to the acropolis or even a nice walk admiring the sunset over the sea. In short, enjoy the slow pace in this wonderful corner of nature.
