An authentic village in Val di Cornia

A delightful village perched on a rock surrounded by woods, Sassetta exudes authentic charm. It hosts numerous festivals throughout the year and is a must-visit destination in summer if you're looking for some coolness, and in autumn for chestnut picking. Among the village's alleys, small squares, stone houses clinging to each other, and small restaurants, you'll find the charm of slow tourism. 

The village was built in the year 1000 and has remained so, without undergoing changes from its original architecture. Numerous works of art are displayed throughout the village. 

The surrounding area offers various possibilities for excursions, walks, mountain biking, and trekking. Sassetta's historic center retains its medieval character, with narrow cobbled streets, ancient stone houses, and a parish church dedicated to San Sebastiano. The village is very picturesque and offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Thermal baths, trekking and gastronomy

From Sassetta you can explore the 37 km of trails in Poggio Neri Park, searching for forest animals and charcoal burners' shelters. Alternatively, seek out the thermal waters at Ceretta for a day of relaxation.
