An evocative name for a corner of paradise on the slopes of the Baratti promontory: ‘Fate’ means Fairies.
You arrive at Buca delle Fate after a wonderful 25-minute walk in the Mediterranean nature. A corner of paradise where you can stay in touch with the wildest nature. The sea is perfect for snorkeling. Our advice is to go there early in the morning or out of season as it can get very crowded in the summer. There are no bars or dining options, so bring water before you go there!
To reach this bay, follow the signs for the city of Populonia Alta and then, after passing the Gulf of Baratti, when the road begins to climb towards the promontory, you will find a parking lot on the left. Leave the car and there you will find the signs for the path. Pay attention to the first sign, it is necessary to follow path number 301. The road continues slightly downhill, among the myrtle and holm oaks. You will also pass Etruscan tombs, remaining signs of a civilization that had an important settlement on the promontory of Baratti.
