Piombino seduces the traveler who takes the time to explore it because it has a lot to offer. Starting from its historic center, full of bars, restaurants and pizzerias for all budgets, up to the beautiful Piazza Bovio, a huge terrace overlooking the sea, which alone is worth a visit to the city. On clear days from here you can see the island of Montecristo, the island of Giglio, Capraia and Follonica.
We recommend a visit to the rich Archaeological Museum of the Territory of Populonia, 1800 square meters of exhibition dedicated to the history of the territory from its origins to the Etruscans. The Museum often hosts special initiatives for families. For any information on tickets and timetables you can click here.
The Castle can also be visited and host a museum that illustrates the history of Piombino and its defensive systems, as well as a collection of medieval majolica. If you go down towards the small port you will find other characteristic corners. Observing it at sunset is wonderful!
In Spring and Summer it is beautiful to walk from the harbor to Punta Falcone Observatory and Calamoresca Beach. You can take a look here for the details of this beautiful hike.
