Piombino

Piombino seduces the traveler who takes the time to explore it calmly because it has a lot to offer. Starting from its historic center, rich in clubs, restaurants and pizzerias for all budgets, up to the beautiful Piazza Bovio, a very large terrace overlooking the sea, which alone is worth a visit to the city. On clear days, you can see the island of Montecristo, the island of Giglio, Capraia and Follonica from here.

We recommend visiting the rich Archaeological Museum of the Populonia Territory, 1800 square meters of exhibition dedicated to the history of the territory from its origins to the Etruscans. The Museum often hosts special initiatives for families. For any information on tickets and opening hours you can click here.

The Castle is also open to visitors and houses a museum illustrating the history of Piombino and its defensive systems, as well as a collection of medieval majolica. If you go down towards the small port, you will find other characteristic corners, clubs, restaurants and bars for aperitifs. Watching the sunset from the port is truly a marvel!

In Spring and Summer, it's wonderful to walk from the port towards the Punta Falcone Observatory and Calamoresca Beach. You can take a look here for the details of this beautiful excursion.
